Explore Three Arctic Islands

Welcome to Reykjavik. You will be greeted by our dedicated staffs when you walk out the Arrival Hall at Keflavik Airport. A group transfer will take you to the hotel in your pre-cruise package for rest.

Our complimentary Air2Sea transfer will be available from Keflavik Airport (REK) from 12pm to 6pm on a 2-hour frequency (12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm). Pre-reserved is required. Please leave some time between flight arrival and shuttle bus departure. If you will travel from other places or arrive earlier, your hotel room will be available for check-in starting from 3pm.

Spend the day exploring by your own before transferring to the pier in the afternoon to board Seaventure.

You will be warmed welcome by our Expedition Team and crew when you step aboard. Settle into your cabin, and feel the anticipation before setting sail. Your extraordinary voyage to the western Greenland, the home of icebergs, will start.

Located in the northwest of Iceland and extending into the Greenland Sea, the Westfjords is one of the country’s most remote and least visited regions. Known for its dramatic fjord landscapes, towering mountains plunge directly into the sea, creating a uniquely mysterious Nordic scenery.

We will have the opportunity to visit some of the following sites, all depends on the weather & sea conditions as well as the captain and expedition leader’s decision:

Vigur Island
Home to colonies of eiders, arctic terns, black-backed gulls, and charming puffins. Seals are often seen resting lazily on the rocks.

Djúpavík
The ruins of an old herring factory stand silently at the edge of a deep fjord, telling stories of a once-prosperous fishing era.

Drangsnes
A small seaside village where natural geothermal hot springs bring warmth and tranquility to the surrounding fjord landscape.

Located in northern Iceland, Skagafjörður is a breathtaking region where majestic fjords blend with rolling hills and steep cliffs, creating a dramatic natural landscape. The area is home to a rich variety of seabirds, including puffins and cormorants, which nest along the rugged rock faces and fill the skies with their graceful flight.

Malmey Island
Land on this remote island to explore hidden trails and cliffs surrounded by nesting seabirds.

Drangey Island
Cruise along this striking rock island, where towering cliffs and abundant birdlife showcase the raw beauty of northern Iceland.

Hofsós
Visit this peaceful fjordside village, stroll through its tranquil streets, discover local crafts, and experience the unique charm of Icelandic coastal life.

Located at latitude 66°33′N, setting foot on this small island means you have officially crossed the Arctic Circle. Colonies of puffins nest along the steep cliffs, creating a lively and picturesque scene. The island’s most famous attraction is the Arctic Circle Line, marking the exact boundary of the Arctic region and serving as a perfect photo stop.

Sailing north to latitude 71°N, we reach Jan Mayen Island, located in the heart of the Arctic Ocean and known as one of the world’s most isolated islands. The air here is often filled with mist, and the black-sand beaches are dotted with resilient vegetation that clings to life in the harsh environment. There are no permanent residents on the island, only occasional scientific research teams, giving the place an otherworldly, untouched atmosphere.

Weather permitting, we will go ashore by Zodiac, led by our expedition team, to explore this uninhabited Arctic wilderness and experience the profound solitude of the far north.

Continuing northward, we sail toward the Svalbard Archipelago, famously known as the “Kingdom of Polar Bears.” A day at sea offers a rare chance to slow down and unwind. You may choose to stretch in the gym, attend an engaging lecture, watch for whales from the deck, enjoy some quiet reading, or simply relax and immerse yourself in the deep blue of the Arctic waters.

Bellsund, on the southwest coast of the Svalbard Archipelago, presents quintessential Arctic scenery where snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and tundra merge seamlessly. Busy seabirds nest along the western cliffs, while Arctic foxes and reindeer can often be seen roaming the tundra.

This area was an important whaling ground in the 17th century, and remnants of early 20th-century mining operations still stand, blending the stark Arctic wilderness with traces of human history.

With the highest ice-class rating, Seaventure will take you into the Earth’s northernmost wilderness in the icy region north of the Svalbard Archipelago for a true polar expedition. This pristine world is shaped by massive ice floes, deep blue seas, and the glow of the midnight sun. Tracking polar bears will be one of the most thrilling highlights of the journey. Weather and ice conditions permitting, we may even travel beyond the 80°N latitude line.

Although it may appear desolate, this icy sea is a secret haven for Arctic wildlife. Whales breach the waters, seals rest lazily on ice floes, and walruses play along the shores. The most breathtaking moments come from searching for the Arctic apex predator, the polar bear. Accompanied by our expedition team, you will experience a bear-spotting adventure that brings pure wilderness excitement and unmatched anticipation to your polar journey.

Ny-Ålesund was once a small mining town in the Svalbard Archipelago and has long served as a gateway to the Arctic. It was the starting point for many famous polar explorers. The town continues to attract scientists from around the world, hosting research stations dedicated to glaciology, wildlife studies, and climate change.

Be sure not to miss the museum and the famous post office, which is considered the northernmost post office in the world.

This morning, the Seaventure arrives in Longyearbyen. After breakfast, take a moment to say farewell to your expedition team and fellow travelers. You will then transfer to the airport for your charter flight back to Oslo, bringing your unforgettable Arctic Three Islands expedition to a close.

The information of charter flight will be available in March 2026. We highly recommend staying an extra night in Oslo after the charter flight arrives.
