Serene Greenland To the World's Largest National Park
Highlights
- Sail deep into Scoresby Sund, the largest fjord system on Earth, cruising among sculpted icebergs beneath soaring Arctic peaks
- Discover the wild expanse of Northeast Greenland National Park, the world’s largest and most untouched national park.
- Visit the isolated Inuit settlement of Ittoqqortoormiit, one of the most remote inhabited communities in the Western Hemisphere
Your journey begins in stylish Reykjavík, the world’s northernmost capital, where colorful streets, cutting-edge design and the soaring spire of Hallgrímskirkja set the tone for the adventure ahead. From here, you sail across the Greenland Sea toward a coastline so wild and isolated that even by Arctic standards it feels like the edge of the known world.
Over ten remarkable days, you’ll explore the remote east coast of Greenland, a realm shaped by the powerful East Greenland Current, which delivers sea ice straight from the Arctic Ocean. This icy flow creates prime habitat for polar bears and other ice-dependent wildlife, while also sculpting a dramatic landscape of towering mountains and luminous blue-white bergs. In the vast expanse of Scoresby Sund, silence reigns supreme—broken only by the crack of calving ice or the distant call of seabirds—as you glide through mirror-like waters by ship and Zodiac.
If conditions allow, you’ll continue north into Northeast Greenland National Park, a wilderness so immense and protected that only a privileged few set foot here each year. With little more than weathered trapper huts and remote research stations hinting at human presence, the park offers a rare chance to experience true Arctic solitude. Landings, guided hikes, kayaking excursions and small-boat cruises bring you intimately close to glaciers, tundra and wildlife, while onboard lectures and Citizen Science projects deepen your understanding of this fragile ecosystem.
The sailing season in East Greenland offers long daylight hours that bathe the ice in shifting hues and maximize opportunities for exploration. Wildlife thrives in these nutrient-rich waters, and every day holds the promise of spotting whales, seals or even the Arctic’s most iconic predator against a backdrop of drifting pack ice.

This voyage is ideal for intrepid explorers, photographers, wildlife enthusiasts and anyone drawn to vast, unspoiled landscapes and the profound peace they inspire. Expect to return home not only with extraordinary images, but with a renewed sense of perspective and a deep connection to the Arctic’s raw and humbling beauty.
