Highlights

  • Witness the colossal icebergs of Ilulissat Icefjord and explore Inuit traditions in Greenland’s vibrant west coast communities.
  • Sail the historic Northwest Passage, follow Franklin & Amundsen’s route, and explore wild islands and remote tundra.
  • Experience Arctic wonders, from the Smoking Hills to historic Herschel Island, on a rare and unforgettable voyage.

Embark on an unrivaled 29-day odyssey through the fabled Northwest Passage—one of the planet’s most storied and remote sea routes. Beginning in Toronto and culminating in Nome, Alaska, this rare trans-Arctic expedition leads you from Greenland’s iceberg-laden fjords and ancient Inuit settlements to the windswept Canadian High Arctic and finally through the Bering Strait into Alaska. Along the way, you’ll encounter a region shaped by ice, resilience, and exploration history.

Timed for late summer, when sea ice retreats to reveal the passage, this voyage offers maximum access to places often unreachable for much of the year. The Midnight Sun casts a golden hue across the tundra, migratory wildlife is in full swing, and weather conditions are at their most favorable for navigating deep into polar territory. You’ll explore by Zodiac, hike rugged coastlines, and marvel at remote landscapes that remain untouched by modern development.

Expect to visit iconic locations like Ilulissat’s UNESCO-listed Icefjord, Devon Island—the largest uninhabited island on Earth—and Beechey Island, the solemn resting place of members of the ill-fated Franklin expedition. In Pond Inlet and Cambridge Bay, you’ll connect with Inuit communities, experiencing their enduring culture through storytelling, art, and everyday life. You may witness belugas slicing through Arctic waters, polar bears roaming ice floes, and walrus herds hauled out on remote beaches.

This voyage is a true achievement for intrepid travelers. Crossing the Northwest Passage—still one of the least-traveled and most challenging maritime routes on Earth—places you among a rare few. You’ll walk in the footsteps of Amundsen, Franklin, and Inuit whale hunters, while forging your own connection to a region that has captivated explorers for centurie...
