Antarctica & South Georgia Air-Cruise
Highlights
- Soar above the Drake Passage to land directly in Antarctica, maximizing time amid glaciers, penguins, and icebergs.
- Stand before vast king penguin colonies and Shackleton’s grave on South Georgia—“the Serengeti of the Southern Ocean.
- Sail ice-laden fjords and wildlife-rich bays, exploring by Zodiac with expert naturalists guiding every polar encounter.
Bypass the turbulent Drake Passage on this once-in-a-lifetime air-cruise and experience two of the Southern Ocean’s most extraordinary destinations: Antarctica and South Georgia. Your adventure begins in Punta Arenas with a scenic flight to King George Island—your gateway to the White Continent—where crystalline air and colossal ice formations set the stage for discovery.
Over several days, explore the Antarctic Peninsula’s surreal landscapes by Zodiac, gliding past sculpted icebergs and landing on shores teeming with penguins, seals, and seabirds. Each day brings new possibilities—one moment you may watch humpback whales breach beside the ship, the next, hike a pristine ridge overlooking a maze of glaciers. On board, inspiring lectures deepen your understanding of this fragile wilderness, connecting you to the explorers and scientists who ventured here before.
Sailing northward, retrace the legendary path of Shackleton to South Georgia—an island of staggering beauty and astonishing wildlife density. Here, witness king penguin rookeries stretching to the horizon, black-browed albatrosses wheeling overhead, and elephant seals bellowing along windswept beaches. Visit Grytviken, pay tribute at Shackleton’s grave, and feel the timeless spirit of endurance and exploration that defines this remote outpost.
This voyage rewards those who crave immersion in nature’s rawest power and grandeur. Perfect for photographers, history buffs, and wildlife enthusiasts alike, it combines the thrill of true exploration with the comfort of expert-guided discovery. By journey’s end, you’ll have touched two of the planet’s most storied frontiers—forever changed by the scale, silence, and soul-stirring majesty of the polar world.
