Highlights

  • Skip the Drake’s turbulent seas by flying straight to King George Island to begin your Antarctic adventure in style.
  • Explore Antarctica’s awakening spring landscapes alive with penguins, seals, and towering blue-white icebergs.
  • Cruise glacial bays and narrow channels by Zodiac, marveling at snow-capped peaks, whales, and glittering sea ice.

Experience the best of Antarctica in spring on this seamless nine-day “micro” expedition that begins with a scenic flight from Chile’s remote Puerto Natales across the Drake Passage to King George Island. By flying one way, you save precious time and avoid the rough seas, maximizing your days of exploration along the spectacular Antarctic Peninsula.

As the austral spring unfolds, Antarctica stirs to life—snow melts to reveal rocky nesting grounds, penguin colonies bustle with courtship activity, and seals haul out on pristine shores. Cruising through the iceberg-strewn Gerlache Strait and gliding into tranquil coves, you’ll witness nature’s awakening at the edge of the world. Zodiac excursions bring you face to face with gentoo, Adélie, and chinstrap penguins, while humpback and leopard seals patrol the icy waters nearby.

On board, enjoy lectures by polar experts and panoramic views from the deck as albatrosses soar above and glaciers calve into the sea. Each landing and Zodiac outing offers a sense of discovery few ever experience, surrounded by dramatic volcanic cliffs and snow-draped peaks reflecting in mirror-still bays.

Your voyage concludes with a scenic sail through the Beagle Channel to Ushuaia, leaving you with an enduring sense of awe and accomplishment—having set foot where only a select few have ventured. Perfect for travelers short on time yet seeking the full thrill of Antarctic exploration, this fly-and-sail adventure delivers the essence of the White Continent in unforgettable style.
