Highlights

  • Zodiac through Scoresbysund’s ice-choked fjords, flanked by towering basalt cliffs and cathedral-like icebergs
  • Discover traces of ancient Thule culture and encounter majestic musk oxen roaming freely across Greenland’s vast tundra.
  • Visit Ittoqqortoormiit—one of the most remote settlements on Earth—and glimpse life at the very edge of the Arctic

Embark on this unforgettable expedition through East Greenland’s legendary Scoresbysund—an immense, iceberg-laden fjord system that stands as the largest and perhaps most beautiful on Earth. Your adventure begins in Iceland, whisking you north across the Denmark Strait to the remote frontier of Greenland, where a short hike and Zodiac ride deliver you to your waiting expedition ship.

As you venture deep into the fjord, every day reveals a new facet of this Arctic masterpiece. Glide past sculptural icebergs in Viking Bay, where black basalt cliffs rise dramatically from the water and seabirds wheel overhead. Step ashore on Danmark Island to uncover the ancient remains of Thule settlements—echoes of Greenland’s earliest inhabitants—and keep watch for musk oxen roaming the tundra. In Hare Fjord and Ofjord, the serenity is profound: mirrored waters reflect vast mountainsides and drifting floes, while landings on remote islands offer sweeping panoramas of Greenland’s wild interior.

A highlight awaits in Ittoqqortoormiit, a tiny, colorful community that stands as one of the world’s most isolated towns. Here, you’ll meet the resilient locals whose way of life is defined by the rhythms of the Arctic, providing a rare glimpse into a culture shaped by endurance and ingenuity.
This late summer voyage unfolds at the height of Greenland’s brief, golden season—when the tundra glows with autumn hues, wildlife is active, and the light dances long into the evening. Expect moments of deep stillness broken only by the crack of ice and the call of seabirds, and a profound sense of awe at the scale and solitude of this Arctic wilderness.

Perfect for those with a spirit of adventure and a reverence for wild, uncharted places, this journey offers not just exploration but perspective—a chance to walk in the footsteps of ancient hunters, sail through landscapes few have ever seen, and return home forever changed by the silence and grandeur...
