Lo más destacado
- Attempt to sail beyond 80° north to the shifting Arctic ice edge, scanning the floes for walrus, seals, and possibly polar bears
- Discover Hornsund and Bellsund’s glacier-carved fjords, alive with seabirds, calving glaciers, and trapping lore.
- Explore Ny-Ålesund, cradle of polar exploration and science, where Roald Amundsen launched toward the North Pole.
Your Arctic adventure begins in stylish Oslo before flying north to the frontier settlement of Longyearbyen—the world’s northernmost town and gateway to the High Arctic. From here, your expedition cruise weaves through the dramatic fjords, glacier fronts, and island-studded waterways of Spitsbergen, the largest island in Svalbard. This is a land defined by exploration heritage, from early trappers and miners to legendary polar pioneers, and shaped by immense natural forces that continue to sculpt its starkly beautiful landscapes.
Sailing south to Hornsund and Bellsund, you’ll encounter some of Svalbard’s most majestic scenery—towering peaks, vibrant tundra, and immense glaciers that crack and thunder into icy seas. Bird cliffs teem with guillemots and fulmars, Arctic foxes roam the slopes, and reindeer graze the fragile vegetation. As you turn north toward Northwest Spitsbergen National Park, the wilderness deepens: serrated mountains, offshore islands, and broad glacier fronts glowing under the ethereal light of the Midnight Sun. Early summer offers prime opportunities to spot polar bears patrolling the ice, while later in the season whales return to feed and wildflowers paint the tundra in fleeting color.
A true pinnacle of the voyage is your attempt to reach the ever-shifting ice edge near the 80th parallel north—a place few travelers witness. Here, the Arctic Ocean meets the pack ice in a dreamlike mosaic of floes and open leads, alive with seals and walruses hauled out on the ice. Conditions permitting, you may explore by expedition boat, experiencing the profound silence and scale of this frozen frontier. Whether you reach the ice edge or instead delve into Svalbard’s deep fjords, the sense of venturing into one of the planet’s last great wildernesses is unmistakable.

In Ny-Ålesund, one of the northernmost research communities on Earth, you’ll step into a living chapter of exploration history. It was from here that Roald Amundsen departed by airship in his quest for the North Pole, and today the settlement stands at the forefront of global climate science. With Wi-Fi switched off, you’ll savor rare disconnection—immersed instead in glacial panoramas and the quiet hum of Arctic discovery.
On board, your Expedition Team enriches each day with insightful lectures and guided landings, while off ship you might hike across tundra, kayak along glacier fronts, or cruise by Zodiac through iceberg-dotted waters. Each landing is shaped by weather and wildlife, ensuring a dynamic, authentic expedition experience.
This voyage is ideal for curious, nature-loving travelers who crave both comfort and true adventure—those drawn to wildlife encounters, polar history, and the thrill of pushing beyond 80° north. You’ll return home not only having explored one of the most remote corners of the globe, but having felt the humbling vastness of the Arctic, crossed into rare latitudes, and witnessed firsthand the fragile beauty of a rapidly changing world.
